Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 July 2026

Pebo is a personal tool for organizing your climbing videos. It is built to be private by default: your videos and the information Pebo derives from them stay on your device unless you choose to sign in and back them up. This policy explains what Pebo accesses, what it stores, and the choices you have.

Your photos and videos

With your permission, Pebo reads the videos and photos in your device's photo library so it can find and organize your climbing footage. Pebo analyzes videos on your device to classify them (gym, outdoor, board, or not climbing). This analysis runs locally using an on-device model. Your videos are never uploaded to us, and we never see their contents.

Location information

To label where a climb took place, Pebo reads the location data that your camera may have already embedded in a photo or video. It may look that coordinate up against map and crag databases to find a place name. Pebo does not request access to your device's live location and does not track where you are.

Optional account and cloud backup

Pebo works fully without an account. If you choose to sign in with Apple, Pebo creates an account and backs up your app data — your projects, notes, tags, label corrections, and saved location names — so you can restore it or sync it across devices. Your videos themselves are never uploaded; only this metadata is. Backup and sync are handled by Supabase, which stores your data on your behalf. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple provides us an email address (which may be a private relay address) to identify your account.

What we do not do

Pebo contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it except as needed to provide the backup service described above (Apple for sign-in, Supabase for storage).

Keeping and deleting your data

Data stored on your device stays until you remove it in the app or delete the app. If you have an account, you can delete it at any time from Settings in the app; deleting your account permanently removes your backed-up data from the cloud. Deleting your account does not delete the videos in your device's photo library.

Children

Pebo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Pebo evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the date above.

Terms of Use

Last updated: 6 July 2026

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Pebo app. By using Pebo, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Your license to use Pebo

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use Pebo for your own personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these terms and the App Store terms.

Your content

Your videos, notes, and other content are yours. Pebo does not claim ownership of them. By using the optional backup feature, you permit Pebo to store and process the associated data solely to provide the app's features to you.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the activity in your account and for keeping your own backups of anything important to you. Do not use Pebo to break the law or to infringe anyone's rights.

Photos and deletion

Pebo can help you review and delete videos from your device's photo library. Deleting a video from your library is permanent and is handled by the operating system — please make sure before you confirm a deletion.

Automatic classification

Pebo uses an automated model to classify and organize your videos. This is a convenience and is not always accurate. You are responsible for reviewing results before relying on them or deleting anything.

Availability and changes

Pebo is offered as-is and may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued. The optional cloud backup depends on third-party services and may be unavailable at times.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pebo is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any lost data, lost videos, or other damages arising from your use of the app.

Termination

You may stop using Pebo at any time by deleting the app and, if you have one, your account. We may suspend or end access if these terms are violated.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States.
